How to Write a Great Essay

The narrative essays are written in either the third or first person. Students should be able to comprehend the events and characters. Students should draw on sources like biographies, diaries, newspapers, magazines and other written works. However, the writer should avoid plagiarizing other people’s work unless they can provide references to prove that they are the rightful source of the material and the quotes are accurately created. Many literary agents won’t take narrative essays that are clearly stolen.

Analytic and expository styles can also be found in argumentative essays. Expository essays employ logic and arguments that are structural in support of a particular thesis. It provides a history and detailed overview of the expository subject. It also contains the principal points and evidence. Analytical essays are based on personal observations and literary methods, such as analysing an argument or using specific examples. Students should expect to read extensively on the subject to fully comprehend the method of writing.

Most essays contain at least one essay with a bad point. Students must be able to spot negative points to avoid them when writing their essay. The most effective way to spot a bad point is when an essay is not written in a proper way or sentence structure, or uses poor communication skills. All good points come with negative points, and students should be aware of this. Therefore the aim is to discover how to balance the positive and negative points in order to achieve the desired result.

Argumentative essays are written in order to convince the reader into accepting or denying a particular viewpoint. An argument that is well written is the foundation of a well-written essay. All figures and facts should be cited to justify the argument. Students should not over simplify any topic in their arguments. This will make their essay too simple to read and analyze.
