The Artist a castigat premii pentru: Best Picture, Best Director (Michel Hazanavicius), Best Actor (Jean Dujardin), Best Costume Design si Best Original Score.

Hugo a plecat acasa cu 5 statuete pentru: Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing si Best Visual Effects.

Meryl Streep a castigat Oscarul pentru cea mai buna actrita intr-un rol principal, pentru filmul The Iron Lady. Octavia Spencer a plecat acasa cu Oscarul pentru cea mai buna actrita intr-un rol secundar pentru The Help. Christopher Plummer a castigat premiul Best Supporting Actor, iar Jean Dujardin a tipat de fericire cand i s-a inmanat premiul pentru cel mai bun actor intr-un rol principal, pentru The Artist.
